Maison et Objet

Our trip to Paris was originally planned around the Maison et Objet exhibition, with the added bonus of Paris Deco Off happening at the same time. After spending our first day exploring the streets of Paris, we were up early the next morning to navigate the metro and catch the free shuttle to the exhibition centre—a true lesson in Parisian rush-hour travel!

The Paris Villepinte exhibition centre, much like the NEC or Olympia, is a vast, warehouse-style venue with multiple halls to explore. Armed with a plan, we took a ‘divide and conquer’ approach, determined to cover as much ground as possible. It was an ambitious mission—physically exhausting but absolutely worth it! While the internet is great for browsing, nothing compares to seeing products in person—the colours, finishes, and craftsmanship were on another level.

Alongside catching up with our existing suppliers, we discovered an exciting array of new companies from across the globe, from the Netherlands to the Philippines, filling us with fresh inspiration for our portfolio. One standout was Timber Tailor, a company specialising in bespoke joinery—they had even integrated a hidden stepping stool into a kitchen cupboard! https://timbertailor.eu

Brands such as Eichholtz and Blanc D’Ivoire showcased luxurious room displays featuring everything from grand corner sofas to statement lighting, elegant vases, and beautifully crafted cabinets. We spoke with linen suppliers, stool manufacturers, and art dealers, to name but a few, making some invaluable new connections that we can't wait to explore further.

Weary but buzzing with inspiration, we made our way back to Paris, indulged in more exquisite cuisine, and ended the day taking in the breathtaking sight of the sparkling Eiffel Tower – a perfect conclusion to an unforgettable trip.
